NOTD

Hola Dalimoo's,

I love doing my nails.  Whilst I was on maternity last year and my son was tiny I would change my nail polish and try do art designs practically every other day but now I'm back at work and I have a 5 year old and a "nearly" 2 year old I just don't have the time these days to change my polish or to experiment with different designs that often so I look out for nail polishes that technically do that for you!

There has been hype recently about feather nails and obviously I needed to get on that band wagon.  I bought two from Invogue, Parakeet (blue, orange and yellow flecks) and Sunset (peach and white flecks) from superdrug ages ago but have not used them so thought I would try one out last night.  I chose 'Sunset' and teamed it with Barry M's Peach Melba.

I don't know if its me and how I am applying the feather nail polish but this does not remind me of feathers nor does it have a feather effect it just looks like sprinkles you would put on a cupcake.  So to say the least I was quite disappointed.

To make matters worse my nails chipped so badly this morning and I had only got in and out of the shower. To be honest I don't know if it was Barry M's polish as I find they chip pretty bad but that's a whole different blog post!

Anywho my lovelies this isn't the first trend/hype I have got myself into a tiss about and have regretted and it sure wont be the last!  Please tell me what nail 'trends'/'hypes' that have you got you all in a wobble and you ended up regretting?

Ciao for now xx

Whats in my travel make up bag...

Hola Dalimoo's

I have just come back from a few days away in spain with a couple of my girl-friend, which was very relaxing and extremely hot!

I am not someone that wears a lot of make up in the heat and when I am by the pool/beach I do not wear make up (except waterproof mascara) so I downsized my make up bag an awful lot this trip with that in mind.

Lets start with my face....

I suffer with oily skin so in the heat foundations just melt off my face and whilst on holiday I don't use foundation at all.  I don't see the point of covering up that tan!  I only conceal my dark circles and any break outs I may have on my face.  From left to Right:  Mac Select Cover up in NW25 and NW20, Pixi Correction Concentrate, L'Oreal Lumi Magique Nos 1 and 2.

To finish my face off I only brought a bronzer: Rimmel Bronzer in 025 Sun Glow and two blushes: Look Beauty, Make me Blush in Rosy - shade 4 this is a Shimmery one and The Balm, Fratboy this a matte one.  I also brought Mac Soft and Gentle as my face highlighter with me.

On to the eyes:

This was pretty easy!  I am obsessed with all things naked at the moment and I love a bronze smokey eye so it was no question I had to bring my Naked Palette by Urban Decay with my Urban Decay primer potion.  I couldn't decide which mascara to bring so brought three, Max Factor Eye Brightening in blue, Max Factor 2000 Calorie and obviously I had to bring a waterproof mascara (Collection Longer Lash) for the day time whilst I am in and out of the pool as I did not want to look like I had panda eyes!  I also brought my shu uemura eyelash curlers, FashionistA eyebrow kit, Barry M clear mascara which I use as my eyebrow set, a no-name black khol pencil and Rimmel's Scandaleyes in Nude.

Now I have a thing for lipsticks and I just couldn't just take one or two lipsticks I took five!  I love lipsticks and I use a different shade everyday depending on what my mood is at the time...I love a bright vibrant lip if I feel happy or confident and a more muted, natural lip if I am feeling slightly introvert and just want to "blend in"!  Anyway, all the colours I took with me were on the vibrant side...

From left to right:
Mac in So Chaud, FashionistA in Raspberry, Revlon Colour burst in Raspberry Pie, Revlon Colourstay matte in Womenswear and Revlon Colourstay matte in It Girl.  I had to bring lip pencils but to be honest I don't think I wore them!  From top to bottom they are: Benefit's Cupid's Bow, Rimmel Eastend Snob, Mac in Lasting Sensation and Mac in Cherry.

Anywho my lovelies, that was all I brought with me on my travels this time!  Do you think this was excessive or on the light side?  What do you tend to take away with you?

Ciao for now

Coldsores...

Hola dalimoo's,

Are you someone like me that have regular coldsores? not only regular but get 2/3 of the blighters at a time or have them continuously for weeks because as one goes another pops up?

YES?  Then I have to tell you about this wonder product an ex-colleague told me about.  It has to be the best product for coldsores I have ever used!  I have been using Compeed and zoverix for years now but it never really gets rid of them quick enough.
Last week i used Lysine ointment, it's from Holland and Barrett and its only £3.39 and its a 14g tub.  It is like a balm and melts on your finger tips.  It smells quite citrusy and it doesn't tingle on your lips, it made my lips fell soft so I will be using this as a lip balm too, 2in1 for the same price...get in!!!

Anyway I had TWO coldsores when I woke on Tuesday last week, but were completely gone for brother's birthday on Saturday..  This stuff is freeking amazing I have never in all the years of being a sufferer had a cream or product get rid of a coldsore(s) so damn quick.

It will now become my new staple.

Why this wonder product is not widely known is beyond me!

Ciao for now dalimoos xx
