Hola Dalimoo's,
I have been on Roaccutane now for just over a month and I am really pleased with how it is going and my skin has become noticeably clearer. I am having some of the side effects, extremely dry lips and itchy scalp but the main side effect is my face has started drying out. Because of this, the skincare products I was using for oily/combination skin is now obsolete!
I have found products that seem to be working for me at the moment but having just increased my dosage I will no doubt need to research some more products for extreme dry skin, but for the now these are doing their job!
From left to Right:
I know there is a buzz at the moment about how bad face wash is for your skin...blah blah blah but I am someone who doesn't feel clean if I haven't washed with a face wash. Saying that I have been on the hunt for something more "natural" and recently came across Salcura (£10.99 -FeelUnique.com), it is free from parabans, SLS and claims to be 100% pure and natural. I have noticed Salcura doesn't foam like other face washes, I think that is a good thing as my face doesn't feel overly dry after using it. I really like this face wash and I think I will repurchase when it finishes.
One of the many side effects of Roaccutane is sensitivity to the sun which is an absolute bummer as we are having a heatwave at the moment so I am having to cover up and for the first time ever I am having to use a high sun factor. On one of my many trips to boots for "necessities" I picked up No7 Factor 50+ face cream (£12.00) as they were having a buy one get one free on No7 skincare. I use my SPF once I have get out of the shower and before I put on my serum and face cream.
I don't know if I put my creams on in the correct order but my way of thinking is SPF protects my skin the most so should be the first thing I put on just so my serum or my moisturiser doesn't act as a barrier....am I making sense to anyone other than myself?
Next I use serum. I have been using serums now for a couple of years and the one I am using at the moment is from Greenpeople (£10.95 - FeelUnique.com). I personally do not think it is as hydrating as they advertise but that could just be my skin at the moment so I do not want to be too negative about it and I am still on the hunt for a hydrating serum.
Next I use an eye cream this is also from Greenpeople (£8.55 - FeelUnique.com). This particular eye cream is targeted at people with sensitive eyes and sufferers of eczema and psoriasis. I really like this cream its very thick, not watery like some eye creams I have tried recently, and it sinks in really quickly leaving my eyes feeling really hydrated.
The last step before I do my make up is my moisturiser. The face cream of choice at the moment is Oilatum natural repair face cream (£7.95 - Boots). I first heard about this cream watching a Pixiwoo video a couple of years back. I did try it back then but obviously it was too greasy for my oily/combination skin at the time, but find its absolutely perfect for my dry skin now! It leaves my skin feeling soft and glowing without the greasy look.
Like I said I am happy at the moment with the products I am using but I will no doubt switch it up a bit especially as I am now on a higher dose of Roaccutane. The product on my wishlist at the moment is Embyolisse Lait-Creme Concentre, it is £18.50 from Cult Beauty, but I am not sure whether to actually splash out as it is pretty pricey for a face cream, but....
...who knows, I could be writing an article about it next week.
ciao for now xxx
